Eurofins Biomnis Embraces the Real Christmas Spirit
Embracing the real Christmas Spirit of solidarity, generosity, love and care, every year we support 5 local charities by contributing with their festive season projects. These charities have been around for long and work incessantly, not only during the season, but throughout the entire year to provide precious - an not rare life-changing if not life-saving - assistance to those in need throughout a diversity of fronts, such as homelessness, life-threatening illnesses and mental health.
Below you'll find a glimpse of their amazing work. Access the links provided to visit their websites and learn more of how you also can give your precious contribution:
Focus Ireland
Sr Stanislaus Kennedy founded Focus Ireland following her research into the needs of women experiencing homelessness in Dublin in the 1980s.
Through her research, Sr Stan realised the importance of involving people who are homeless, or have been directly affected by homelessness, in the development of homelessness services.
In 1985, two years after the initial research Focus Point (now Focus Ireland) opened its doors on Eustace Street in Dublin’s Temple Bar. The organisation provided advice, information, advocacy and help with finding a home – as well as a warm welcoming place to meet and have a low-cost meal.
Since its foundation, Focus Ireland’s services have continued to grow and our research and advocacy work ensures that the rights of people who are homeless remain on the political agenda. In addition to our Dublin projects, we now have services and housing projects across Ireland including in Waterford, Kilkenny, Cork, Sligo and Limerick.

The Capuchin Day Centre is an initiative of the Irish Capuchin friars who continue to play an active role in the day-to-day life of the Centre and the services it provides. It endeavours at all times to concretely express the values and ethos of the Capuchin Order with the highest professional standards in service provision.
The Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People is a charitable organisation founded in 1969 by Brother Kevin Crowley, a Capuchin friar. The Day Centre provides over 1,000 hot meals each day and more than 1,450 food parcels each week to people who are in need or who are homeless.
The Day Centre also provides a medical service, an informal advice and information service and showering facilities. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or what you believe; all are welcome and no-one goes hungry.

Make-A-Wish
Since 1992, Make-A-Wish Ireland has granted wishes for more than 3,300 brave children across Ireland, including 197 wishes granted in 2023 alone. A wish granted is true magic for the child, providing respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment. Make-A-Wish Ireland does not receive any government funding and relies overwhelmingly on the kindness of the Irish public to continue granting wishes.
As a well-respected and popular children’s charity, Make-A-Wish Ireland is fully committed to providing the maximum level of care and enjoyment for our children and their families. This is achieved through a combination of professionalism, attention to detail and sensitivity. Nothing is too much trouble for a wish child.
In all possible cases, Make-A-Wish Ireland ensures that all immediate family members can participate in the child’s wish. In doing so the family can create lasting, happy memories.
Make-A-Wish Ireland is ‘triple locked’ by Charities Institute Ireland for best practice in transparency and accountability.
