Eurofins Biomnis – What we do?
We are a leading independent provider of medical laboratory services throughout Ireland. Established in 1991 as Claymon Laboratories, in 2015 we became part of the Global Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics network of laboratories, benefiting from access to thousands of tests in all medical specialties, including genetics.

We are known within the Irish Medical Community to provide the largest selection of Diagnostic Tests. Over the last 30 years, we have proven to be an invaluable partner to the HSE, providing a service to almost every hospital laboratory across Ireland. Our scientific expertise underpins the delivery of routine and esoteric laboratory testing services to a very broad range of health care professionals.

The laboratory team at Eurofins is made up of highly skilled scientific staff, led by experienced chief and senior scientists. We have built up relationships with specialist consultants and employ an advisory panel who communicate with our Medical Director. Benefiting from international expertise at our sister laboratories, we have nurtured excellent working relationships with specialist scientists in Italy, France, Belgium, Sweden and the UK. Our colleagues frequently visit Ireland, provide online training and speak at various events on their specialist topics.

Published Medical Research
Laboratory staff engage in medical research to create and implement new diagnostic clinical laboratory tests to identify or monitor disease, disease processes, or treatment of disease.
Supporting education within our scientific sector is important to us and demonstrated by our financial support to stage educational conferences for Clinical Scientists, Medical Scientists and other specialist professionals. Scientists are afforded the time and support to complete PhDs, Masters and Management training whilst in our employment.
Over the years we have been very lucky to retain key members of our Scientific, Consultant, Quality and Management team for an average of 10 years and others up to 26 years. Our longevity wins trust with clients.
Accreditation
In 1997, we were the first clinical laboratory to be accredited by ILAB (now INAB) and we have continued to retain our accreditation every year and strive to further expand the scope of accredited tests. Eurofins Biomnis is accredited to the ISO 15189:2012 Medical Testing Standard.

1991 – Claymon Laboratories was established in Ireland
1999 - PROUD MEMBERS OF THE BIOMNIS GROUP
In 1999, Claymon laboratory became a proud member of the internationally renowned Biomnis Group. The Biomnis Group was formed by the merger of the Marcel Mérieux Foundation and the Pasteur Institute in Lyon, France, with an impressive longevity of 100 years.
2002 - BIOMNIS LOGISTICS DIVISION
In 2002, Eurofins Biomnis added a nationwide diagnostic and infectious specimen transport service, fully compliant with ADR & IATA guidelines and with the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road legislation. This Logistics Division became known as Eurofins Lablink.
2011 - ACQUISITION OF LABLINK LIMITED
In 2011, Eurofins Biomnis acquired Lablink, a recognised clinical laboratory service provider since 2001. This acquisition was a natural fit and allowed Eurofins Biomnis to capitalise on the synergies between both companies and greatly enhance our service offering to health care professionals in both the public and private sectors.
2015 - BIOMNIS JOINS EUROFINS SCIENTIFIC
A landmark moment, when Biomnis joined the Eurofins network of companies. With over 63,000 employees across 950 labs in 60 countries, (as of May 2025) Eurofins Scientific is a leading international network of companies providing an unparalleled range of testing and support services to the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, food, environmental, consumer products industries and one of the key emerging global players in specialty clinical diagnostic testing. 2017 - EUROFINS BIOMNIS ACQUIRES MEDICAL CONSULTANTS PATHOLOGY GROUP (EUROFINS PATHOLOGY)
In January 2017, Eurofins Biomnis acquired the Medical Consultants Pathology Group, an independent private histology laboratory, established in January 2013, and now known as Eurofins Pathology. In July 2017, MC Pathology relocated to a new purpose-built laboratory at Eurofins Biomnis.
2021 - EUROFINS SCIENTIFIC ACQUIRES SANDYFORD CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS LTD.
In February of 2021, Eurofins Scientific completed the acquisition of Sandyford Clinical Diagnostics Limited. In November 2021, the newly acquired laboratory changed its name to Eurofins Biomnis.
2024 – Eurofins Clinical Genetics opens in 2024
The first private, commercial, genetics lab in Ireland, initially offering Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing and working closely with Eurofins Genoma, Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics UK and Eurofins Biomnis France.
